Tomorrow I will be a brand

Tomorrow I will be changing the oil in my '09 TL. Since Acura warranty requires oil changes by following the OLM or 1 year, I will be doing it at 1 year since the OLM still says 60%. The car only has 5000 miles total and is running Red Line 5w30 and Mobil 1 M-110 oil filter.

The new oil going in is Royal Purple 5w20 with a Royal Purple 10-2808 oil filter. Shortly after I bought the car, I changed out the Z1 ATF to Royal Purple MaxATF and also have Royal Purple 75w90 in the diff as well.

I guess not only does this make me a brand [censored] but re reading the above reminds me of the quote.....a fool and his money are soon parted but I love it. Happy motoring and I will be putting a lot more miles on this baby during the summer.

Your using great stuff. 09 tls are rear wheel drive now? And since your under warranty, redline isn't the best choice since they don't have the approval just for warranty purposes

The TL's now come with FWD and AWD. I have the AWD version.

Yes, I just received an email from Helen warning me about it. I don't like using that word but I used it because its a popular saying that people relate to plus the censor software should have caught it especially that word since its probably one of the worst words in my book. Plus people get a vacation for bypassing the software, thus the reason that I typed it the way it was.

It was expensive no doubt, had to buy 12 quarts of MaxATF and 1 pint of 75w90 gear oil. Cost me around $100 shipped. Not that bad.

The transmission shifts great. The shifts are not as firm as using Red Line D4 or Amsoil Universal ATF but its also not as sloppy as it was with the Z1 fluid. Its somewhere in between. The car has a total of 5000 miles and 4500 miles on the ATF. I have a UOA on here of the factory fill motor oil that I dumped after the first 1000 miles and I did post it here. No other UOA's though. I may catch a sample of the Red Line oil that is being drained tomorrow and send it out for a UOA but it won't tell me much since its only been there for 4000 miles and this is a new motor.
