I'm not sure if I would go that far... Michelins are diffidently the most over priced tires for what you get in the business.

The A/S 3+ is around the same price as others in its performance category, yet performed better than all of them in testing. So yeah, if paying roughly the same for better performance makes them over-priced then....

The contortions that some of you folks go through to slag Michelin, Mobil and other brands on here is just bloody amazing.

Like I said its not so much the tires its the company itself.

That wasn't directed at you

You gave your reasoning above with the Honda/Michelin thing, I think that's a pretty good reason if you got caught up in it and it caused you grief.

These co-conspiring scumbags put these tires on knowing full well they had a lifespan of 20K or less and according to the owners manual they had to be used or it could be a dangerous situation.

Then Michelin didn't supply the machines to change the tires as promised (every dealer was going to have one) so a wheel exchange program scam was set up for almost 5 bills a wheel (the price came down some after customers howled) and your nice wheels went up the swanee in exchange for some curb rash crap with a new tire on it.
I figured out a tire size that was very close and used Pilot TPM on aftermarket alloys on my brothers as soon as the Pax were shot (less than a year).

No change in handling or anything else except now the car could use cheaper and available tires that could be installed anywhere. Almost 4 years later the scumbags at Honda (you know the same ones that claimed normal tires could not be used or else in black and white in the manual) issued a TSB that normal wheels tires with the Pilot TPM part# could be used without issue.

Scumbags is being charitable with these two companies, they should have both been sued into oblivion IMO.

Didn't you know that buying PAX tires/wheels you enter proprietary solution territory and from customer point of view it is the best to avoid it.
Let others be early adopters of cutting edge technology, especially one that is incompatible with anything else?

PS I think Micheling tried it before. Check TRX tires.

It was my brother that bought the van brand new, I went with him and was uneasy about the Pax from the get go but that was in 05 when they were new to the market. The dealer assured us they had the machine and it is a non issue. They have a machine it turns out, they were waiting on one that was never delivered .

Oh no problem, you know where I am coming from with that. Yes it was a fiasco, his wife didn't want to drive the van going by what they printed in the owners manual about the van being unsafe and the 2K for 20K of use on those tires.
Looking at all the front end, strut and spring part numbers they were no different so I didn't buy that but it took some convincing to get her to believe it, me and my brother were in the friggin dog house for a while over it. LOL

I recommended the Pilot Sport A/S 3+ or the Conti ExtremeContact DWS 06 to a friend who owns a MK5/MK6 GTI. He got the latter and he said it was the best tire he's owned. If it didn't fall below 40*F where he lived or didn't plan any Tahoe trips, I even suggested the Pilot Sport 4S or the Pirelli P Zero Nero/Rosso.

To Trav's point, I think Michelin is a whole less evil than Bridgestone. But minivans will chew through tires regardless, Honda got into hot water over the PAX tires on the Odyssey and Toyota got sued for using shoddy Bridgestone/Dunlop run-flats with indirect TPMS on the Sienna AWDs.

Nope, but Toyo Tire & Rubber, Ltd is the main supplier of engine and tranny mounts to Toyota.

They are very, very long toothed and the tread pattern looks like it will have weird noise tones as the miles climb.
Don't be surprised if they are already years old if you look at the DOT date code. Don't touch them with a 10' pole.

Am I missing anything recent?

Thank you

RT43 are answers to everything. If you need tires? RT43. If you have lower back pain? RT43. If you have prostate issues? RT43,
It is kind of similar to:
I want to buy BMW 335i. I like German cars, stick shift, handling, power, inline 6 engines, perfect weight balance. What do you guys think?
Average forum member: Get Subaru Outback. My wife and I are buying them for last 30 years. They are great cars.

I got the Toyo proxes plus 4 tonight and so far they are great the immediate first impression was smooth good ride but good feedback and very nimble without being overly harsh.
