Same here, tires stay on same side of vehicle, just front to rear and back, for directional and non directional tires, Sportage is AWD too. May be out of laziness but works out just fine.

I do rear to front then cross fronts to opposite rear if my tires are non directional. My winter tires are mostly directional so they stay on same side and just get swapped rear/front each winter at install. I don't rack that many miles so each spring the 3 season get that and each fall the winters get that.
