been down this road before. used the over the counter products till I browsed the detailing forums. Optibond by Optimum Protectants. Instead of using it straight from the bottle. Dilute it 1:1.
I use Meguiar's Natural Shine, a water-based product. It lasts quite a while on the tires if I don't get rain; it's inexpensive; and I can use it to treat the vinyl in the interior as well.
I know you're probably gonna ignore my suggestion like everyone else does, but every time this topic comes up I'm gonna recommend Stoner's More Shine Less Time. It's by far the best tire dressing I've used (and I've tried a lot of them), and it's not harmful to the tires like some dressings are.
I've had great success with the Turtle Wax F21 Ultra Wet Tire Shine. It seems to last a good while and from what I can gather, it does not have silicone in it. Also, it is normally a good inexpensive item at Walmart and auto stores.
try the meguiar's hyper dressing in their detailer lineup. it is a water based product so no harm to the paint and you can cut it up to 4:1,water:hyper dressing, if you want to make the gallon bottle stretch a bit. i use 1:1 which is a very glossy shine on my tires and 4:1 on my wheel wells which is more of a natural black look w/o the 1:1 mixtures extreme shine. i have tried a lot of tire dressing products and short of a tire and paint harming petrol based product this is the best i have tried. i don't usually FREELY endorse products but this stuff is good stuff.
