Time to Replace vehicle battery?

Midtronics says 50% is fail and 60% marginal. By this logic the battery is fine.

Off topic, I've never seen a negative cable only go to the unibody and not the engine block. Is this a hybrid accessory battery or does it in fact turn over some little honda motor?

I'm highly impressed by whatever camera was used. The printed receipt and the entire steering wheel is in focus. With my camera, I might get the receipt in focus, but not the entire steering wheel.

K24, non-hybrid.

iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Customers car , replace. my own car? run till it need a be jumped. if your customer gets stuck because of a bad battery , they gonna blame you

I have never gotten over 3 years from any battery brand on one of those crap 51R motorcycle batteries in my wife's Honda. That said, I would wait for the health to go below 50%, probably about another 3 months MAX (in my experience, once they go on a downward slide they go bad pretty fast).

I am on year 4 of my OE VW battery. The heat here kills batteries quicker. But, my engine doesn't strain the battery much. I wish that the EA211 came with a kickstarter or recoil option. I'll replace the batter when I feel an excessively slow crank.
I've never had any use for a battery tester(the battery sales tool).
I've gotten the 'battery needs replacing' at the dealership multiple times when dealing with campaigns, recalls, warranty repairs... and then the battery lasts a year a 2 longer, still didn't fail me, but replaced because of slower than normal cranking speed. My engines are well maintained and start instantly. For a long cranker, one will know soon enough when the battery is done.

For customers, I would tell them that the battery is weak, and will need to be replaced in the future. No one is psychic when and they can plan for it. If they don't want to keep a jumpstarter ready, they can either join AAA or opt for the roadside service option with their car insurance. Many will just ask for the 'replacement'. But, your job as a mechtech or service writer is "highest dollar amount per ticket" so enjoy your sale.

I had two batteries go. Just realize it’s not like the old days with batteries anymore. You likely won’t get a warning (this was your warning! ) like a slow start or dim lights. In both my situations the started car and I drove to my destination as normal. Tried to leave about 30 minutes later and turn the key and nothing, no click, dash idiot lights all out. Dead, Like it was not even there.

I could not even use a jumper with the battery still connected. Only way to jump was to disconnect the battery at the terminals and jumper to the free terminal. Drove home (~2 miles) that way.

Replace it with the larger battery. Those 51R batteries are stupid. $100 at Costco and forget about it.
On our TSX, I used the same bracket, just bent down the tab.
Or you could wait until they call you for a jump...

Is that the 6 cylinder negative cable? Looks like it...

Funny in a way..

My wife was stranded with the 98 Camry earlier this evening with a borderline battery… I went there and it actually started. We have had the exact same experience with a battery in her old Pontiac Sunfire. Dealt with that nonsense for 2 or 3 weeks and got smart and replaced that iffy battery. No problems after getting that replaced. This AGM Duralast was 3 years and 8 months old.

We replaced it. New Autozone VL group 24f battery that was $109 before tax.
