A tech posted a job he did upgrading the brakes on a brand new car. I love looking at these since I can never have them, just too much. Noteworthy is the spindle/knuckle has to come off to install the backing plates. Also learned something from the tech--the vehicles come with steelies on them. Have seen them on dealer lots like that. The 22"+ rims etc come on a palette. They take the rims from the palette, mount them on the vehicle, put the steelies back on the palette which goes back to the factory, and the process repeats. This is done so the rims are not damaged while the vehicle is transported.

Don't forget theft.
Also, haven't many "flash options" always been dealership installed?
Shipped with steel wheels, a customer has the option to specify a different wheel too, no?
It seems to me that wheels are on the sticker, and even many base level trim vehicles have $2200+ rims, which the buyer may not want. I’ve seen some Suburbans on the lot with steelies, and having not scrutinized the window sticker, thought that maybe they were municipal type vehicles. But those brakes (they are a dealer installed option and cheaper if ordered online and installed by dealer later on)….really wish we could have them (16.1” vs 13.5” rotors, both rotor and pad areas are larger, 6 vs 4 piston) 😊

Was thinking of this post when I saw 4x Mercedes G-Wagon's on the carrier as part of the delivery, all shipped on their "end user" wheels.
