Saw this going up I-95 in Virginia.

We ate at that Logan's a long time ago. Surprised it closed.
It had really gone downhill the last few years. Our last time in there we saw a family of cockroaches pop out of the wall and run across our table so the entire meal was free under the conditions that we didn’t go bash them on social media lol. Needless to say we never went in there again. They closed up about 2 months later.

Trevor is such a ham. Loves cuddling with his mama and oldest nephew 😍😍

Cockroaches! That was your appetizer compliments of the restaurant🤣🤣

Just messing, but that’s disgusting.

Trevor is milking the system 😂. Living there rent free, eats for free, sits where he may and there's nothing you can do about it. I always said if we were fortunate to come back again in another life and in another body that the dog has had it made. Give him lots of love and affection

Smokey Bones located at 4813 Valley View Blvd, Roanoke Virginia 24012. They have announced today that they will be officially closing down Sunday July 6th. Another restaurant chain leaving the area. This location opened in maybe 2004 or 2005ish. Haven’t seen a full house at this place since probably 2019. Really depressing all this stuff is closing up.

Those chain restaurants are really falling out of style.

I wonder what it is about them. It's an industry wide thing.
A big reason this one is closing is the rent went up by $5,000 per month is what a friend who works there said so Smokey Bones isn’t going to renew the lease next month since this is an under performing location. But also I’ve noticed less and less people eating out the last few years especially at chains. Don’t know why I guess it’s just a part of the times.

I think COVID changed peoples habits, too. I bet fast food places with drive throughs still have a less inside traffic than before.
Probably so. Even fast food is pretty expensive now. I can make a nice meal at home for what it costs for a trip through a low end fast food drive thru.

Re restaurant closures: Also keep in mind the surprising (to me, anyway) rise in food deliveries.
I, personally, cannot condone or patronize a practice which generates so much packaging waste.
Good thing I like to cook.
Add in rent gouging, food purveyors' price gouging, additional costs of the packaging....of course some will only mention a raise in workers' pay.
There is an opportunistic, slob element to our society, no doubt.
Sorry to sound so 'har-umphy' about it.
