Close call for this blue tongue. If the bush was much thicker I probably wouldn’t have seen it or been able to redirect my foot to this position as I was stepping.

We love Blue Tongues. After (monitors) goanna, they're my son's favorite. I'm partial to Tegus.

I like blueys a lot, unfortunately they’re the only large native lizard left where I work.
I met this monitor a few years ago when hunting, it took about 5 minutes of gentle coaxing to get it to decide to move off the track and let me pass.
