Wow big pet peeve of mine - along with dropped tailgates on an empty bed - THAT DONT HAVE BETTER AERODYNAMICS
As a kid in Baltimore at the time, I would often walk down to the inner harbor. It was a conglomeration of rotting docks, abandoned boats, rats and stench. Had to be careful for fear of falling through a rotted dock. All kind of junk and dead fish floating. Around the late 70's and early 80's an insightful mayor and some native businessmen saw potential and made it into what you now see. It is getting ready to have a complete makeover.Baltimore Inner Harbor from the Marriott near Little Italy, fun place, great aquarium. Don't want to wander too far off the water, but lots to do. Didn't get to the B&O Museum though, next time. I find lighthouses interesting, imagining the existence back in the day.

Used it too much when it was new?
That has to be one of the few remaining Texas towers. We had one off Newport RI back in the early 70's. I remember my Grandfather the retired Navy Senior Chief (and a great source of nautical knowledge for young me) explaining how they were replacing light ships and conventional lighthouses.
