In Russia, during the Cold War, hundreds of old steam-engine trains were strategically parked on old tracks as a contingency plan in case the Russian electric grid faced any disruptions. The central Perm region of Russia is home to a unique sight - a train cemetery filled with dozens of steam locomotives from the 20th century, dating as far back as 1936 and as recent as 1956. Over the years, around 140 locomotives were stored there, but as technology advanced, steam engines were gradually replaced by electric power, rendering these reserve trains obsolete. As maintenance on the locomotives ceased, they fell into disrepair, succumbing to rust and overgrown vegetation.In recent times, some of the abandoned trains have been purchased and removed by Chinese owners, while others have been restored and transformed into exhibits at various museums and memorials. This train cemetery remains as a testament to an era when steam locomotives played a vital role in Russia's transportation infrastructure during the Cold War.

More old baseball gloves that I’m going to restore. Thankfully sellers packed them well. Mail man left the mailbox open with these sitting there and the boxes completely fell apart because it’s pouring rain. First up an old Nokona. Seller said it was an attic find at an estate house. Needs relaced then it will be good as new. Next a Sonnett made in USA glove. They were one of the better brands back in the day. Also needs relacing too. I have red and tan laces coming. I have another glove I’m planning to do in red but might throw tan in one of these maybe.

You may have the very first glove made by Nokona in 1934!!! I see a trip to Texas to visit Nokona in Nocona and maybe see a Rangers and/or Astros game.

The last two times I flew over Jordan saw a town called Rum Valley on the flight map. I was kind is surprised muslim country would have a town with that name. A quick Google search of the town showed some unique landscape and terrain features, and that the area was used as part of the filming of Lawrence of Arabia.
