This book that dad got me at Cracker Barrel. Normally I fall asleep during a book because it’s boring but this is just lists of questions with answers so I can read it even though I already know most lol. I’m the biggest baseball nut anyone knows lol. I have yet to find anyone as into baseball as I am. Everyone I talk too could care less about baseball and say they only like football, basketball or soccer lol. I don’t see how anyone can watch those sports but I guess the same could be said about baseball. Everyone has Super Bowl parties but no World Series parties. Haha.

Open wheel and IMSA racing. At least so long as they don't go woke too. I don't watch blankball (fill in whichever you want) since they started the kneeling BS. Frankly I'd like to see them go bankrupt and disappear for it. But at least they aren't as boring to watch as golf.

I have to agree golf is boring as all get out. That and lacrosse which I also know tons who follow. I can’t watch any sport besides baseball without falling asleep that includes racing too lol,

A week ago or so I showed a picture of a scale model of a WW2 VW Type 2 Kuebelwagen. This is a civilian variant I built over 20 years ago from another 1/43 Schuco model I had. I always thought the Kuebel would have made a pretty nice recreational offroad/beach vehicle. This vehicle was actually equipped with portal axles, which could also be found in the military variant of the VW Type 181 "The Thing." Portal axles include internally geared hubs that are driven by off-center drive axles that are mounted above the center of each drive wheel, allowing for improved ground clearance. The model, just like the real thing, has a fully tiltable windshield.

The mods include light pods mounted on top of the fenders rather than smaller original headlights on stalks, removal of the antiquated tail lights and of the hood-mounted blackout light, and redesigned and better-looking bumper bars. I left the horn in its original location near the driver-side headlight.

As I have mentioned before I am slowly but surely doing an inventory of all my scale models. I am taking pictures of all models so I can create a searchable database. My memory isn't good enough to keep track of a collection that goes back decades. Eventually, I'll have to turn a room in my house into a scale model museum. At the current rate of progress, two or three models recorded per week, this project will take years.

Check out JoeBlogs on Substack. Joe Posnanski is a very good writer, and is a baseball nut.

You'll also enjoy watching The Rookie, a baseball movie based on a real story.

I've only been to the Stanley Cup finals, and the World Series, one game each.

The World Series was 11/1/01--I don't think there are too many WS games that were more exciting (or correct me if I'm wrong!).

What year for the Stanley Cup?
I looked it up....the date was 6/8/00.

I was a disgruntled Flyers fan and bought the ticket online, just 1, when they went on sale I wanna say 10 AM EDT on a Saturday.

The evening of the game I said boy was I stupid, dealing with traffic trying to get to the arena.

But the outcome, was ever so sweet. I even got into a scuffle exiting as I was so happy. What a coincidence too, on the level of excitement. The only one that beat that was the 5OT when the Flyers won.

I was such a hardcore fan back then, even taping games on VHS, and watching them after the fact.

I am reminded of my friend Rob who purported to enjoy such luncheon meats.

He voluntarily ate the kind with cross-sections of macaroni and cheese, and the orange scum around the perimeter of another sort.
My mom fed me head cheese and I love it to this day. She bought it because it was cheap. It is expensive now, as many things have changed (chicken wings, chuck roast, ox tail, all "garbage" meat when I was growing up)....

I can see how a Flyers fan would be delighted by watching the Devils lose. Back in the day I hoped for anyone over NJ.
