When we were kids, we didn't have "things" to amuse us and command our attention. We played with what we had handy and made up games to keep us occupied. This was one of the games we played, choosing up sides with one team jumping on the backs of the other. The object was to collapse the opposing team, and sometimes it took a lot of planning and effort. These were kids in my old neighborhood in The Bronx.

Frogs seen on a walk from our cabin
For a number of years, sweetie and I would rent a cabin at South Lake Tahoe for a few weeks in the early fall. We'd hike, socialize, enjoy meals together after a day of exploring. Early one evening we came across some frogs on one of our walks.

There was a stream near our cabin, and it was part of an environmental display. At one point we could walk below the level of the stream and, through a window, see fish and other aquatic life as they went about their usual routine.

The next couple plants I pulled the taters were YUGE. All done now for this bed, have some regular fingerling variety growing in another bed. These were bought for eating, but sprouted so I planted the eyes. Plants look fine. We will see.

Our onions from seed are terrible. We didn't fertilize them early and it was too cold I think. They sprouted and stayed tiny.
