That rule applies when the flag is displayed horizontally against a wall. Look at the flags on the shoulders of military uniforms, on ships and on other vehicles. The flag is oriented with the field of stars toward the forward direction.

Also interesting is if a the flag is hanging strait down and can be viewed by both sides the stars need to point north or east. If hanging straight down off a building the stars need to furthest away from the building.

First one at the Plasma center, as per usual. Got here 6:01a.m. Thought I would see whoever is in the Blue 8th Gen Honda Civic, pulled up 6AM on the nose last week, like "I got this." I had been here since 5:30a.m. that day. Nope! I am the first one here. Must be a late start today.. clock just turned 6:30 and still NOBODY here. The first place in line is mine. First in, first out (2nd in line usually gets done before me and that's fine. My donation is 880ml as per weight.)
6:39a.m.: Nobody. Stranger things have happened, but... wow.

Not hot at all, but slightly humid, so here I sit with AC on before it is time to stand in the line. Still amazed they didn't pull up at 6:30 sharp, like 5 people. Or maybe that is Monday.
