I like old vehicles with the original finish especially if they have developed a nice patina. I came across this Saab 96 (1960-1980). I estimate this vehicle to be from the mid-'60s to early '70s but I'm not an expert on Saab. This one still has round headlights The Sab 96 is equipped with a freewheel. When you get off the gas the transmission disengages the driveshaft.

There are three more Saabs parked near this one so I expect that the same Saabphile owns all of them. Skol!

That model? Was it a 2 stroke?
As I said I'm not a Saab expert but I don't think the freewheel feature was limited to the 3-cylinder 2-stroke engine. Even the Sabb 99 with the slant I4 had it. At least I think so. Maybe Sven or Helga can elucidate?

No, that car has the Ford Taurus V4 engine, which Saab started using in 1967. The engine was 1,498cc and Ford developed it for the 1962 Taurus (the European model, not to be confused with the Taurus sold later in the US)

I had one of these but in the little slope-backed sedan. Mine was a '67 or '68 that I purchased in 1972. Great little car, very economical to run.

My old HS buddy's family had this:

She found three quarts of Redline underneath the bathroom sink. I can't even remember why they were there LOL. Unopened so I probably will just use those for top off of the Mobil 1. Although a month ago for some reason or another I left a screwdriver in the refrigerator. I get too much going on and I forget why I put things where I do. Getting old is not fun
