The wildflowers are wild with all the rain we've had.
Our hills are turning already a little brown despite all the recent rain but the main bloom is still coming. I see mostly mustard flowers, poppies, and irises. Some ice plants are already in bloom.
That is a beautiful stock. Makes me want to get a barreled action just to be able to show off the stock.
Those type of pictures warm the heart and put a smile on this grumpy face every time. Once of the reasons the wife and I loved to take our sons on car trips across the country 2-3 times a year. We all said we enjoyed the driving and looking at amazing sights like those as much as where we were going !
I just got a new inspection sticker on my Jeep today. Expired in Feb. The only reason was because I had a tire going flat.Uh oh
What do those fasten? Bridges?
They look like big show piece models to me. Something you'd put in front of a big fastener factory, etc. What do those fasten? Bridges?
Reminds me of these massive studs / bolts we had to anchor into the ground / cement all around the base to stabalize this extremely large distillation column. This column was so freaking large it was installed in two sections. Bottom was installed and made stabil and let to sit for two months for the base to settle and cure. When ready for the top , that was a "must see" affair. The giant top section was put up in the air on the largest two cranes we had ever seen anyplace. Total column height was near 300 ft due to several laws and aviation regulations. Company was made to limit height and place a 24 hr operational avaition beacon light on the top. The two sections at first were made together with giant braces to hold it in place while the two halves were welded together. The wild thing about this column is that still to this day when strong winds are around you can actually see this very tall tower swinging back and forth in the wind. It is a pretty scarry ride to take if you happen to get caght up there. When we were still a bunch of young and stupid "shift mechanics" on 12hr shifts at night bored out of our minds several of us would climb to the top and sight see from way up there. It was a hell of a taxing climb to get all the way up and then almost as tough to get back down.
That's a really good looking Prelude. Interesting parking brake on the front tire.
