Time for new tires. At least in my opinion. My dad said he won’t buy new ones till these are showing cords all around the tires because that’s what he has always done. I just shake my head at the stuff he says sometimes lol. Probably caused by the bad struts in the back that he won’t replace either. Surprised the backs showed before the fronts as it’s a FWD but I guess with the bad struts is why. It needs 4 tires you shouldn’t replace less than 4 anyway. Probably going to get another set of P4 Pirelli for it. Considering how long they have lasted been great and a lot cheaper than Michelin. And about all of these have 2 or 3 plugs in them lol. I would help them out on tires but they drained my account because they needed money to pay for the transmission in his truck so I don’t even have $200 now.

I feel really bad for you after reading that and can't really say anything about what you've described that wouldn't just make you feel worse, which I don't want to do. I know I teased you in the past about some loosely related material.

I do have a question though, and that is: Why do your parents have access to your bank account? As a parent of three children, this just seems odd to me, my kids have their own accounts, we do not have access, have no idea how much is in them, and it isn't our business, it is their money. Certainly, that isn't money I'm entitled to arbitrary access if I wanted to. You work hard and are trying to establish a successful career. Not being able to freely utilize the fruits of that endeavour has got to have an impact on your quality of life and state of mind.

When I signed up for the checking account I was under 18 it was for my first job so I could get direct deposit. My mom was on the account with me and still is because the account terms say until I’m 24 which is kind of stupid. I might stop by sometime and see since I’m 20 now if I can remove her from the account. Considering I had over $1,000 in it and now I’ve got no money to pay my tool bills this week I’m very angry to say the least. Because I have a budget for all of my bills then I have my “fun money”. I don’t get paid till Thursday. I have two other bank accounts but who knows they are probably drained now too. It also irritates me that they are always asking me about my purchases like why did I pay this much to the Snap-on man or Matco man or why did I spend $10 on eBay. Then tell me what I need and don’t need. I told them yesterday I said if you would of at least told me I would not have been as angry but I’m glad I didn’t go to the tool truck or i would of been in trouble. I said even if you said hey can I borrow some money I would of let them. She’s like well it shouldn’t matter by now if you would quit buying stuff you wouldn’t owe any money to anyone. I had to keep my mouth shut to keep myself out of trouble lol.

I did have some fun at work yesterday cutting some exhaust off a truck lol. Everyone there is a little scared to use the shops sawzall as it’s a little finicky I was like hand it here I want to have fun lol. The reason we cut it off is because it had a hole in it and for it to pass VA state inspection it can’t have a leak anywhere but if it’s not equipped it will still pass as long as it has a catalytic converter and is past the passenger compartment. Customer said chop it off and put it in the bed so I can get a sticker lol. The hole was about the size of a dime. Had it been really small like a pin hole I might of missed it. It sure did sound good afterwards LOL.

You will not be your own man until you:

1. Move out
2. Pay your own rent
3. Have your own bank accounts

As long as you live at home, dependent on someone else, they will have a say in your life.

You gave them access to your accounts. You continue to give them authority in your life.

Move out. Get your own place. Open a new account. Transfer the money from this account. Close the rest. Start living your own life.

Or stop complaining about your parents.

I was going to be a little less blunt in my delivery, but was going to suggest basically the same thing. He can start by setting up his own account(s) that his parents have no access to, and then transfer everything to those accounts. If he is unable to close the joint account, keep $0.00 in it until he can.

Start shopping for an apartment as well, as this co-lo doesn't sound like it is good for his mental health or relationship with his parents.
