Thoughts on Mobil 1 Extended Performance vs. Amsoil, etc?

My thoughts are that there's simply no comparison; Amsoil is a superior product.
Well, from what I've seen, Mobil 1 Extended Performance potentially contains some Grp III oil, which isn't that great.
However, the Mobil 1 0W-20, -30, and -40 weights are PAO-based and are excellent oils.
Don't discount the whole Mobil 1 line based on the EP products.
Amsoil makes great oil. So does Mobil.
You have to decide for yourself if the increase in price of Amsoil makes it worth it to have the small increase in performance over the locally available Mobil 1.

I don't know if EP is great or not, but if being great depends on not having grp III, then pt me to a great oil.

As noted the XL series are Group III based and is recommended for 7500 miles or the car's max OCI, whichever is longer.
ATM is a PAO based 10w30 oil with ester additives, very low in VII. An excellent oil.
Well, like I said, the regular Mobil 1 0W-20,-30,-40 are all great, PAO-based oils.
The Amsoil XL (correct?) is a Grp III oil, and is marketed as a shorter drain interval than the other Amsoil lines.
As long as you're going to spend the $$ for synthetic, you might as well go with a full synthetic, IMO

I thought "all" Amsoil oils were PAO based. Something Mobil got ragged for?
So "ATM" Amsoil might take me to a 10K OCI? Assuming good driving habits, car condition etc...? I'm currently using Napa Gold filters and have a 4qt sump. Thanks.
I have no doubt it's a great oil... I was just a bit confused at their "model" lineup. I'm not a fan Of Mobil 1. Although their HM line looks interesting. I currently use Maxlife Synthetic and am pleased. Waiting for a used oil analysis on it...

I recently switched (last year) from Mobil 1 to Amsoil ASL.
