A lot of people report good results with it. I bought a bunch of 10w30 at Advance Auto... They clearanced the old stuff online. I bought 12 gallons at .99 per. When I showed up for pickup they loaded me up with my order. I didn't know the difference at the time. But they filled my order with the newer DS. Right after the first change I noticed a lash adjuster tick. I assumed a funny filter. I've since changed it several times using the same oil different filter. o'rielly's, puroilater, super tech, and a cheap proline. That tick was always the same. I have a huge stash... over 220 qrts at last count. I selected another brand during the last change just a day or so ago. I thought I should start pulling odd older stock and had 3 qts of older synpower and finished it off with an oddball qt of gtx all of it was 5w30 and a super tech filter bought at the same time the others were. The tick went away.
It was probably doing no harm, but was annoying. I'll use the DS in mom's car or friends, mine doesn't seem to like it.
