This star wars hype better be worth it.

Only movie I wanted to see this year..

Don't care what others think about it anyways...both my son and wife will enjoy it with me..

We're all sci fi geeks anyways..

Not that interested in this one. I have three girls who don't seem interested by peers etc.

However the first movie(memory) I saw in my life was Star Wars at age 5.

I'll probably go see it in the theatre. I haven't been to a movie in a theatre in 10 years, and now there is a good theatre in town with the comfy chairs and good sound, so it should be interesting.
I grew up in the 80's and the starwars trilogy made a big impression on me, and the story, the characters, the effects, all were as good as it got as far as I knew.

Having watched all the movies so far, but the original three more than the rest, I feel the very first one was the best.

Im not convinced to go see the new one in the theater... However, because it retains some of the original characters, I may if it gets good marks.

I havent been in a movie theater in I cant remember how many years. First time to re-do anything, right?

Me too, on all accounts.

I might wait for it to hit the cheap-seat theaters though. I can easily wait.

Speaking of hoopla... what hoopla? We watch 45-60min of TV a night, either Netflix or DVD's, shows we've seen already. I might listen to NPR on the drive to work. No news channels, newspaper, etc. I have a vague idea that a new Star Wars movie is coming out, but TBH this thread is probably about half the exposure I've had to that.

Cutting the cord was the best thing I've ever done.

I agree with the above comment. After the first 3, it's the usual milking a franchise situation.

The Star Wars fans will like it, according to reviews it is the best one in 30 years.
Disney rarely bombs in the box office when it comes to movies. They know that far more $$ will be made of merchandise and Disney attractions than the movie.

...they have done their homework & market testing, they know how to make money.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Some of you guys are real rays of sunshine.
One of you won't see anything with the name star in it.

Do you cover your eyes when you look outside on a clear night, too?

Some of you are even trying to make it sound like it's some sort of badge of honor to have not seen any of the Star Wars movies. I haven't seen any of the Twilight movies, but you haven't seen me boasting about it on the internet up until now.

I just enjoy more and worry less about what others think...

Heck, our family are not big TV/movie people, but we do love our sci fi...

Sometimes people are all about the right things, which is fine-but you do have to enjoy life a bit before it passes you by....

but then you don't get to camp out overnight at the ticket booth.

I saw late showing Saturday night absolutely loved the movie as someone who grew up in the time of the original series this movie brings everything back to being a kid.

I'll be watching the new movie.

I've been a Star Wars fan since I was a lil kid,not stopping either.

I think this movie and all the hype around it is a good diversion from all the bad things we hear in the news.

I saw the movie Friday. It did not disappoint. I was entertained.

Like they didn't do that to a certain character in the past...it is basically a copy in plot from that.
