This is why I dont like strangers showing up.

The road to Chris' house is apparently quite intimidating. People don't wind up there accidentally. His town's growing, there may be new n'er do-wells, and the law is likely half an hour away. Like someone said, she wasn't wearing "desert shoes." You've got city folk into drugs and gangs and being unemployed showing up with their old scams and noone to play them on.

Welcome to Boomerville.

You know I am one. I'm 67 years old. But I know what's viral these days. And I'm not paranoid-I just put a set of Chinese tires on my vehicle (seriously).

But-yea-I get you....

I recall it was popular to buy a duck with a number on it and the charity would dump them in a river and capture the first numbered duck to cross the finish line. The number was on the bottom of the duck and then it was revealed to the judges at the end. The rest of the ducks would all then be collected to reduce chances of plastic pollution, which back then was not really identified as a big deal.
I worked with a guy who was kind of my mentor, that was an active member of Ducks Unlimited and frequently donated hand-carved decoys to their auctions. He had a couple auctions that reached significant 5-figure bids for matched pairs of decoys… not bad for a guy who made glass bottles as his “day job” IMO…

Why not, is it exclusive just to after Tjs? Someone gave me a duck and I have a 91YJ.....
The duck thing is for mall crawler Jeep lifestyle people to show each other how much they like the lime green hinges and door handles etc. People who get their Jeep dirty tend to think it's pretty lame. Maybe the soccer moms with the minivan and the BABY ON BOARD sign in the back window now have 4 door Wranglers and the kids aren't babies? Harmless. TJs and older seem to be out of that user group.

Someone put a duck on my 02 Xterra, I tossed it in the weeds.

Paranoia abounds on this board. Is always has. Yea-a cute girl leaving a duck is going to have a circle of friends break in to your home.

1) This is a big viral thing for Jeeps
2) This is big viral thing on cruise ships

I'm am so curious-did you know this was a viral thing? Honestly?

Wow!

You read what I said earlier on this thread…

Hell it could have been a man 6 ft 6 320 pounds with a denim jacket and a Banditos patch on it…

Or a guy looking like the Som of Sam…

I mean seriously.. What the Frankfurter ?

Is it possible that pretty young lady was doing recon for a group of bad actors ?

Maybe…. But I highly, highly, highly doubt it.

I find it beyond belief an actual thread was created on the whole thing to be honest. Even the OP said (quote) "She left a rubber duck. I know that is a jeep thing". Which of course I already knew.......maybe he wanted to show everyone the pretty girl.

I'm on a couple websites dedicated to four wheel driving. Be it exploring trails, or competitive rock-crawling. LOTS of guys have Jeeps. Some of them very heavily modified. The rubber duck thing wherein people, (almost exclusively women) leave little rubber ducks on Jeeps, is really happening, and apparently frequently. Most of the guys on the 4wd website think it's pretty dumb, but harmless.

Not that I'm any kind of expert on women's moods or intent (just ask the wife 😁) but this young woman in the video with her body language, didn't act to me like she was casing the place.

Yep, one older guy left a duck on my Jeep after we chatted at the marina - and I went up for 🍤. I left it. Pretty soon my daughter googles it and gets a whole bucket of them. Said, you and mom can pick one each - that’s it. She didn’t like any of them and has ordered one. You can’t stop that 🤔

We've received two on our JLUR and the wife thinks it's adorable. I think it's incredibly stupid.

I've said before a bunch of poseurs congratulating themselves on buying the most easily modified vehicle with the biggest aftermarket is lame. And yeah, I'm happy to say I'm a poseur because I own a JLUR. Seriously.

The impressive stuff is something-- anything-- that's NOT a Jeep with homebuilt 4-link, coilovers, engine swap, cage, OBA etc etc.
