On that note, it's also cheaper to make your own hamburger in whatever off fraction you want at home than to buy fast food, yet fast food is a $billion+ industry. Pre-mix fills a convenience void just like Happy Meals.

I admit l/100 km makes a lot more sense, but do quick mental conversions to (approximate) miles per (Imperial) gallon in my head. 10 l/100 = 28 mpg, 15 l/100 = 19 mpg, 20 l/100 = 14 mpg, etc.
