Hi! Filling up the Volvo today, I have not yet decided on 93 or 91 octane. I was considering putting in two cans of Seafoam, to help clean injectors.. I still havent run any cleaners, etc through it. I heard Seafoam helps clean things up well. (Remember, the Volvo is the 2.4L Turbo.)

If it were your car, all-original and just now seeing use, the tank will be used up by the end of the weekend, would you do it?

And if PEA cleaners are better, then is Gumout with Regane (the orange bottle high-mileage) better than Seafoam? My Redline SI-1 didnt come yet, so, I was debating if I should Seafoam, or "Gumput High Mileage with Regane" - double dose that too? (Two bottles?)...

Personally I would use Redex as it available cheaply at Costco, I might in erase the dose a bit and run it every tank for a few months, but not sure I would be as aggressive as you are considering.

Not saying anything is wrong with your plan, just not what I would do.

You might want to join a Volvo forum for extra info and tips from people with the same car, this was a popular engine in Europe, though I thought the 2000 model had the 2.3, but it is likely I am mistaken.

I have added dozens of tuneups in a can thru the years, and the one I stay with is marvel mystery oil. In the past 40 years of driving, never lost an engine due to usiing oil, lol of any make.

+1 on waiting for Redline. It's proven to be good stuff. Double dosing isn't usually the way to go.

I would also hesitate to put in such a strong dose of Seafoam. On newer cars, I've heard tales of it causes check engine lights from improper burns. Some claim it can also damage seals, but I don't know about that.

I would wait for the Redline or use the Regane Hi-mileage and I would only use a single dose. Be prepared to change your oil within a few weeks after dosing.
I recently saw a UOA with higher lead after dosing with one of these cleaners and it has made me more cautious...that's why I wouldn't double dose.

Maybe Im behind, but dont you have no money to do an oil change or timing belt? Priorities.

If youre doing an oil change soon, this is the time for techron or SI-1. Not sure Id run seafoam unless you had a real reason...

Does the oil in there now look fresh? If I was tight on cash, I'd still go first with the oil change. Even on a new car that's been on the lot for a while I want to change the oil. But then again I'm cuckoo.

Skip on Seafoam for the gas tank.
