When I run my JD LT155 after sitting I get some thick milky oil on my dipstick. I assume it’s condensation from sitting. The oil is new and so is the filter. How long should I run the engine to help burn this off? Should I leave the oil cap off during this process? Thanks. I’m running Valvoline High Mileage Full Synthetic 10w30 with an Ecogard s241 (51348 size) filter.

Common in snow blowers and other air cooled motors that don't get run long enough or worked hard enough to get the oil hot enough to cook out moisture. I only run my OPE when they need to go to work. Batteries are on maintainers. Oil cap off will make a mess, experience there. I plow with a 14.5 BS lawn tractor in very low temps. so its oil gets hot, only a tiny amount of condensation shows at the cap up on the long fill tube.
