The only real "problem" with adding brake fluid to the max line (caused by pad wear) is that the res will overflow when you change the brakes the next time.

Well, I'm going to have the brake fluid bled out and replaced in the spring anyway. If I need new pads before then, I'll be sure to have the fluid drained and the proper level established at the same time.
