Just when one thought the build was over.. parts start failing at the most inopportune time.. Maryland roads have tore up another set of front struts.. and I've learn that the Bilstein struts aren't what everyone thinks.. These along with the FoMoCo struts have worn out in less than two years.. So far that makes (1) set of FoMoCo and (2) sets of the Bilstein. So in order to make the switch, here's the list of parts I just ordered:
  • Monroe OESpectrum Struts (partsgeek)
  • Godspeed 280-310 End Links* (coiloverdepot)
  • TRQ/1A Auto Rear Hub Assemblies (1A auto)
*Note this will make the 9th set of different end links I've had to buy for the van. They all fail at some point along the way. The links that have last the longest have been the NAPA links. but I neglected to save the paperwork to order these again. But according to my inspections.. even these NAPA links have been coming in contact with the inner firewall/wheel well. The issue with most if not all of these links is that the ball joints are too large or are not shifted to one side of the link rod in order to allow for clearance. The Godspeed seem to have a shifted ball joint and the only thing I can do is try them.

For the F-350 4 injectors, stand pipe, dummy plug, valve cover gasket, green o-ring, and blue spring kit. Had a cyl 2 misfire with a rough idle, black smoke on cold start, and grey smoke while driving. It isn't a hard job but it takes enough time to get to the injectors (under the valve cover and oil rail) that I might as well do all 4 on that bank.

For the Silverado, the A/C blows not cool. I was plugging around under the hood, unscrewed the cap on the high side charge port and heard hissing. Ordered a Santech MT2901 kit and will have one of the techs here evacuate the whole thing so I can change and recharge.

I may end up having to buy some injectors also, I just hate knowing that the exhaust manifold has to be removed to access the fuel rail and injectors.. The real kicker is that none of these sites list the size of the hub studs I just ordered. My only assumption is that based on the van's year the hub studs should or could be M14 which is what we have on our van.

Toss the santech kit in the trash can and get OE valves. 52458184 is the high side. Ford E3EZ-19D701-AA fits the low side and is far cheaper than a GM valve. E69Z-19D701-A works as well. 15-5438 is delco for the high side

What year is your Transit?

2020 Ford Transit Connect 2.0L XL cargo. According to speculation, It seems that the 2019-2023 model years may all have the M14 lug studs while the 2014-2018 utilize the m12 studs.. I've spoke with other TC owners who claim their TC uses the m12's and the only feedback I'm getting is that no one knows if our van should have the m14 or the m12s. I know for a fact I made the mistake of ordering M12 lugs when we first ordered the van.. then learn these are m14's maybe it's a flook that our van has the M14s.

A used E4OD for my 96 F250. The old one has used up 2-3 clutches and the only thing keeping it limping along the past while are two bottles of Lucas transmission goo and only driving it for short trips so the fluid doesn't get too hot.

More parts ordered this morning. Seeing how I wasn't pleased with the performance of the NGK plugs and learn these were counterfeit, I started using the Autolites.. but again after 30K miles time for a change.. going with the Accel plugs. However according to the Holley site these are not listed for the 2020 Connect 2.0L, But they are listed for the 2018 Focus 2.0L. Plus after registering with the Holley site, I visited the "community" and there's no way to list the van within these pages.. they have or list other cars and trucks.. but do not allow for an option to add the van.. I sent them an email asking that they add this options as the plugs should arrive in a few days and be installed.

Other things I'm considering is replacing the TRQ red head coil packs, but the Holley/MSD version is more expensive than the TRQ's. I also have the option to try a set of the Whoosh Motorsports coil packs but again everything I'm listing has not been tested on the van. The average lifespan of a coil pack should be around 120K - 150K miles.. I believe we have 60K on these.

Spark plugs on the other hand. can last 30K - 100K.. but I feel these autolite have served their usefulness and time for a change. Plus I view going from the autolite to the accel would be a major improvement over stock plugs.

New AC Compressor and accumulator arrived yesterday for my '95 Seville, they'll be going in along with a new .062" orifice tube and all new seals after I flush the system out while it's all taken apart. Should be freezing cold once it's all back up and running.

ordered the LED conversion bulb for the D 3 maglite

Links, Struts and strut too arrive yesterday.. ran to lowes for the 10mm washers for the links.

So this afternoon I sent an email to A-tach a company who supplied us with a phone mount for the van. we've wanting to swap the phablet type phone for the larger tablet to use for directions. A-tach just got back with me and sent a link to their tablet mounts. Now I have to go out to the van and remove the mount just to see how I ordinally attached the phablet to the van.. It's been so long I can't remember how I attached it.

just arrived..

Trigon_Elite-Black.webp

Matte black/grey digital trigon wrap.. Although this is a test sample,, at some point we may wrap parts of the van with this color wrap.

Welp taped the wrap to the side of the van and called the wife outside to look at it with me.. and.. we don't like it.. this makes the 4th wrap we've tried on the side of the van and nothing looks good or is working like we want it to. looks good on paper, but looks like crap in real life..
