I had a Samurai and an '89 Sidekick. The Sidekick was awesome. EFI, decent gearing (5.13 axles!) and never, ever felt like it was going to roll on the street.

The Jimny has always been a cool rig and if memory serves, was the older brother to the Samurai back in the day.

Thanks for posting!

Put in it's chassis figures into the SCCA rule book for car/truck approval to be raced in a SCCA event. It will fail, make the width of this to be "approved"as there will be zero issues on roll over with the SCCA roll over spec. Add a bigger motor by .5 liters and call it a Jimny Plus and sell it in America with those increases. I can only assume it will pass out crash tests as it is sold in Europe and I can only assume they are up there with ours crash specs or better.

Suzukis in general (except for rebadged Dawoos) are pretty well made, reliable vehicles. I've had four Suzukis and none of them ever gave me an ounce of trouble. They failed in the US because they were so poorly promoted and advertised. The Swift is a very neat little hot hatch and the new Vitaras are credible SUVs.

I agree with deMuro, the Jimny and earlier Sidekicks are great little vehicles if used for what they were intended.
deMuro evaluates the Swift;

Super cool car to see, thanks for posting.
The narrator is very hard to take.
I kicked the tires on an earlier Suzuki for sale at a gas station and it was absolutely appealing and very basic.
That's just Doug, turning down the volume helps. He is a multi millionaire with some of the most watched videos on YouTube or anywhere. Owns a Ford GT

I remember the Samurai. Isn't Suzuki most known for their bikes here in the US?

I still see quite a few of them down here in Florida.
Most of them are sitting on their roof in driveways! They just flip over for no reason, not even moving! :D

No, not really, but that was the story back then!

I remember years back a video on the news where a CR rep says " I'm gonna roll this thing if it takes all day". Never heard anything afterwards.

What a great little truck; moderate sized and capable. Wish they were available here.

I always liked the early Suzuki Samurai and whatever the 'larger' 4 door was. I could see owning one if the right unabused one of them or a Dodge Raider (remember them?) or early Montero came along....

lots of smaller economical trucks that got er dun most of the time without "breaking the bank" would love to see Mahindras sold in USA + that may happen!! lots of fighting as it would seriously wound FCA's overpriced jeeps!! in the end FCA $$$$ will likely win out-LOBBISTS" but newer postings of some changes will get interesting IMO!! ford Maverick is on the right track IMO if they only dumped the cheep problematic CVT + replaced the 2nd set of doors with more cargo area, what trucks were meant to be IMO!!

Just a FYI, FCA no longer exists.
