This is an issue that was mostly pertinent to the Toyota 1MZ-FE engine, if I'm not mistaken. The Camry in my sig is one of the machines. It's had synthetic it's entire life and is sludge free.

My 2002 Tacoma with the 2.4 L recommended 7,500 oci's, didnt specify what blend of oil. I used Toyota brand dino, every 3K. Traded it on the 04 Ranger
