The price of diesel is out of control!

When you do a search, Diesel is generally running in the Mid $4 per gallon range nearly everywhere in CA.

The real issue is why this station is so high - short a delivery? Etc... It isn't a statewide thing...

I believe California pioneered the mandate for low sulfur diesel fuel. It did cost a bit more. I remember "gas" stations in CA used to have at least two grades of diesel. I think the low sulfur diesel fuel is pretty standard now in the US. Maybe the nonsense $8/gal is some sort of boutique biodiesel with used Mcdonalds fryer corn oil mixed in? Take all the used oil from a Mcdonalds and you might be able to run a big rig part way across the country. Silly nonsense to pretend it some solution to a problem.

No thinking involved; it generally is a talking point a group of people have been trained to say.
Trained is the keyword.

But how else can I shoehorn a post about politics on an oil forum?

There are places in California where gas can be twice as expensive as elsewhere. I'm referring to places in the middle of nowhere. Even small towns not situated right by a freeway may have much higher than average fuel prices. I'd like to hear more about this reformulated diesel fuel. 😉

Well, I hope we find out what is going on with those two stations in the photographs, otherwise it is fake news. Gas Buddy confirms $4 and change across California.
The guy that delivers fuel to where I work told me months ago that it was coming. Said he didn't like bio blended fuel. The last batch we got said 5% bio on the receipt. I can't find anything online though
