the OFFICIAL "Advance Auto Parts (AAP) closing" thread ... put ALL deals, rebates, etc here ... (forum rules still apply)

Ok, try this as I just did a minute ago and comes up $17.51. Go to Google. Type in “2024 Black Friday motor oil”. Then you see the sponsor row with all the merchants selling oil associated to what you typed. In that row you see 17.41 with Advance Auto as sponsor. When you click that, it goes to the Advance Auto page with that oil for that price. Now see if your local stores aren’t sold out yet for pickup.
That does nothing for me. I think what you are seeing is tailored to you by location data and cookies specific to you.

Looks like the clearance sale has ended. On Monday and Tuesday - I stopped by at 2 local AAP stores. At both places there were none on the shelves on the floor. Upon asking the store clerk, they confirmed that they have 'been pulled' and in the back. Both places they brought it out from the back and scanned for price - 1 qt containers ranged from $3.40 - 6.50 and the 5 qt jug was $20.21. They also showed up on the AAP web-site. Today the prices have disappeared from the website, back to regular prices.

Hopefully other people in this region was able to purchase for the 2 or so hours when it was working after I posted. Half the locations within 25 miles of my zip code show out of stock so luckily I was able to purchase enough for my needs and typical AA email message with “ready for pickup” along with credit card showing exactly as advertised. Would not be surprised if a better promotion happens from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday.

Advance is the only local place I've seen Mobil-1 EP High Mileage Triple Action 5w30 / 0w20.
Price is high..... $41.99 and not discounted if you want an oil filter with the oil.

Worked for me, thank you. I bought 4 jugs of 0W-20 online, $14 each + tax. I'll pick them up Saturday.

No real sale price online for individual quarts for me. I'll see what the shelf prices are when I pick up the jugs.

Just picked up 27 quarts of the 0w20.

They had it at $3.20 for the single quarts and $14 for the jugs. Spoke to the guy and he said all car quest/ advanced auto from west of the Nevada on is going to be closed

In store? I don't get the lower online prices. I went to a store yesterday that had 6 jugs of 0w20 but it rang up at $23.85. I would have bought it all at $14 or $17.

Online. I placed the order and picked up in store. I’m going to try my local car quest and see if they can bring all the 0w20 and 5w30 here.

Glad you were able to get some at the store. Last night I saw this $14/jug promotion too after hours and purchased 4 more jugs online for future pickup. So this likely explains this situation. It is a nation wide discount for participating locations. The locations are the ones that have been earmarked to close in 2025 from the public announcement. That seems the common denominator why 99% is showing regular price while others are heavily discounting this brand/flavor for now. That’s my only assumptions. I guess I’m done now playing with enough inventory to last me ~4 years for both my Toyotas. Good luck everyone.

This works, with some caveats. It didn’t work in Safari, when I clicked on the link it showed Fram quarts.

To make it work I used Chrome and it then went to the correct web page. Looks like Milwaukee has a bunch but around me it’s full price. West side of WI shows good availability at $17.51

Stopped at a few AAPs in my travels on Friday and Saturday. 2 stores still had jug inventory. One had six jugs of 0w20 at 23.xx and another had 4 jugs of 5w20 at 23.xx. I passed. I don't think the stores around me are going to fall any farther because I think they have been at these prices since the start of the discount. I would need these in the teens to be worth buying. All stores around me show an online price of 38.99.

Sometimes when they fall to 0.05 when clearance is over and they aren't supposed to be sold, you get lucky and a clerk will let them go at that price. I'm sure that's coming soon.

Ya they were going down to $11-15.55 per jug in my area and I scooped up around 50ish?? jugs at that mark, then shot back up $23/$38.99 for some reason?? Very Weird???

They're getting VERYYYYYYYY tight with the .05 deals !! I lucked out on some AC/Delco filters and few jugs of the green Castrol GTX 10W40 from 2023 AAP clearance wave @ .05 cents

Picked up my 4 jugs of 0W-20 this evening. There was no M1 Truck & SUV left on the shelves, all of it had been pulled. Saw online discount at that same store individual quarts were $5.36 for 5W-20 so I passed on those. Couldn't find any other M1 Truck & SUV 0W-20 online at clearance price so I guess I got what was left at that store. Wound up with 5 oil changes for my Ram Hemi for about $3.50 / quart. I'm plenty happy with that for full synthetic formulation, cheaper than Super Tech.

This store had a carboard sign in the window All Sales Final so I guess this is one of the stores slated for closure. My receipt today was on yellow paper and marked All Sales Final, the clerk drew a black X over the UPC codes on my 4 jugs at checkout.

This wasn't done on the 3 jugs of M1 Truck and SUV oil I bought on clearance earlier at my nearest AAP store, and that receipt was on white paper not marked All Sales Final. I guess this means my nearest store isn't on this round of store closures.

Well I was still able to use the“2024 Black Friday motor oil” search term in a different browser (Chrome) and still obtain the clearance pricing.

Remaing clearance jugs of 0W-20 are further away in areas of town I rarely visit but individual quarts are still available nearby. So I bought two quarts of 5W-20 to go with my only jug of 5W-20 for 1 complete oil change for my truck. The clerance price online clearance price for me is $5.36 / quart. I applied my $5 Speedperks earned when I purchased the 0W-20 jugs, so 2 quarts for $5.72 which is $2.68 / quart.

Picked up 2 more jugs of 5w20 at $10.49.

I spoke to the lady and they had a lot of the 0w20,5w20 and 5w30.

I asked if they can make a deal for all of it but they said not till now. Maybe closer when they are closing
