I went in and did about five hours today.
Cleaned up some end of the fiscal year stuff, and worked on bank reconciliations.
While going in on a Saturday or a Sunday always inspires some anticipatory dread, it is so peaceful and relaxed with no other administrative staff present.
Nobody drops by the office wanting either nothing or the impossible, the phone doesn't ring interminably, and I can thus work without being bothered.
It is actually fun once in a while, although I'm sure the fun would wear off after a few such weekends in a row.

Bank Reconciliations are no fun, but hey, working on the weekends without distractions is always welcoming. It is amazing how much more productive you can be when co-workers are not around to bother you.

It never hurts to work on the weekends by yourself. Like you said, it can be relaxing every now and then, but will lead to extreme boredom after a couple of weeks. Enjoy your peace and calmness in your office !

Bank recs can be kind of fun, especially when you finally discover a difficult reconciling item.
The thing about really involved recs is that it is best to be able to work through them from start to finish, make the adjusting entries, and be done with it.
Recs probably take twice as long if you cannot do them without interuption.
WRT S2500Dog, I would grow to hate it after a few weeks, but a couple of times each quarter is an enjoyable change of pace.

I wasn't surfing BITOG at work, although I have gotten some really useful advice here on what to do with certain problems involving our fleet vehicles.
I have a private office well off the beaten track, so I don't have to worry too much about anyone observing what I'm doing.
