The first HDEO engine oil you bought?

Technically sae30 mono qualifies as a HDEO.....so Texaco lawnmover sae30 oil (our company Petrol had rebranded Texaco oils in the past).

Nowadays....Rimula R6M 10W-40

I recall the first HDEO I ever bought was Rotella 15w40 conventional or whatever. Dad said his first was DELO SAE 40

Rotella T 15W40 back in the mid 80's. Worked for a Shell Oil Jobber. At that time, Rotella sold more HDEO than all others combined. Doubt that is still the case today.

1971... It was called Gulf Oil, Cat series 3 10w30 very dark in color. Silver & gold can. It went into a 69 Chev wagon with a 396 2V 265 hp engine.

I think it was Traveller 15w40 from tractor supply, about 13 years ago. It could've been Delo though.

Rotella 15w40 for my Detroit 6.5 extremely badass turbo diesel (NOT). It has been 7.3s after that with a Dmax and 5.9 Cummins thrown in the mix....

But yes, Rotella15w-40

Delo 15w40 for my '87 Ford F-350 XLT Lariat with the battleship International 6.9L diesel. It was a monster... and I loved that slow hulk with its 4.10 RE.

I plugged it in when it got cold in 90's Alaskan winters. Back then, that was most of the time.

It looked much like this one:

Miss the old girl. It came from a time when trucks were trucks.

I think it was Coastal fleet 15w40. I had an 83 F250 with a 6.9 IDI that I got off my dad when I was 15 and he use to use that oil in that truck, and I think that was what I used for a while. I probably had bought Delo 15w40 or Rotella 15w40 for the tractor or equipment before that somewhere along the line.

Delvac 1300 15w40 for my first diesel 01 cummins. Would use the same in my 05 VW Passat TDI if I could. But buying Rotella t6 for that one.
