There was a doctor who bought a Harley Davidson and followed the owner's manual for maintenance; nevertheless, after riding for a few years, the bike just didn't sound or feel like it was "right," so the doctor took it to a mechanic for service. The mechanic took the bike for a spin and told the doctor it would take him a couple days to make it right. A couple days later the mechanic called the doctor and told him the bike was fixed, he could pick it up.
When the doctor came to the bike shop, the mechanic was very nice and asked the good doctor if he'd like to take it for a spin before paying for it. The doctor did just this, and was delighted with his bike running "right" again. After paying the mechanic and expressing his gratitude, the men progressed to casual conversation. The doctor asked the mechanic what he had to do to the engine, and the mechanic said he had to replace a couple valves and clean out the intake, and he described to the doctor what he had done.
The doctor was trying to establish a rapport with the man who had helped him, so he told the mechanic that he did basically the same thing to people with bad hearts. The mechanic agreed that their jobs were the same in principle, but asked the doctor how come HE made so much more money than the mechanic?
The doctor did not want to insult his new friend, so he carefully thought about this for a minute...Then he asked the mechanic if he could replace the valves with the motor running?

Very Good!

Yeah, but the human body has remained unchanged for thousands of years. Doctors have had years to study the human body. Mechanics must know dozens of interrelated systems that change and evolve almost yearly.

Humans are as unique as can be. Sure, the basic architecture is the same but the requirements for optimal function vary wildly across the planet.

Short version: what helps you may kill me.

Silk is dead on (pun intended) about burying mistakes. It happens far more often than you may believe...
