No In-n-out!? Haha, I don't eat fast food often but I think it tastes **** good

San Francisco, down on the waterfront, just south of the Bay Bridge, a quaint little working man's place named Red's Java Hut. Sourdough (the real stuff) buns with all the stuff you want in the middle. I grabbed the bacon cheeseburger with mayo, onions and lettuce. So yummy!!!!

Now stuck in Omaha Nebraska. Very few decent burgers around here. Guess all the good meat id shipped out of state. Anyway, surprisingly, the best bacon cheese burger I've had in quite a spell was yesterday at the small fast-foor joint inside the closest Chevy dealership: Gregg Young Chevrolet. An independent scarf n' barf for the customer's convenience. Their '57 Chevy burger special was yummy!!! Tasted the way burgers used to taste. In other words, nuthin' like the chain franchise places. Fries were the crinkly-cut style. Best of all, the meat was tasty and wasn't hidden by mystery sauce this, etc. Yummy.

Just call me fatso!!!!!!

There used to be a place called the Sport's Cafe in Mississauga which had a one pound burger called the Renegade Burger! That thing was awesome!! But that place is no longer there.

If any of you guys ever come up to Canada, get a burger at Harvey's (there are locations all over Canada), it'll be one of the best burgers you've ever had.

Panda Bear..If you ever decide to stay in the area again consider this:

Its a bed and breakfast that's about 4 miles away from us. We know the owners. Quality place for sure. (And no I don't get any finder's fee) We have eaten at that place (Cameron)..pretty good for sure.
Let me know when you decide to come again. I'll give you the names of the 3 best restaurants in the area.

For some reason I can still recall many years ago how good a place in Leavenworth, Washington was- Heidle Burger. Had a burger and fries for $1.95 and man, was it ever good! The guy running the outfit was a spittin' image of Werner Klemperer, too.

Patman,

I have seen Harvey's in Canada, Windsor area,
I thought Harvey's was Hardee's (in the states) with a different name, are these two restaurants the same?
or different altogether?

The Detroit area seems to be pretty well represented. Ypsi and Dearborn. I've actually been to Miller's Bar. When I went to college in Dearborn, their burgers were famous. I haven't been there in years, though. Maybe I'll have to go back.

Obviously the created of this list has never had a Burger at the Lion's Tap in Eden Prarie, MN. If your in the area stop by, you won't be disapointed.

We have this chain of Restraunts in the Pa. are called Hoss's. Their meats are truly good and their burgers are super good. Maybe I don't get out enough, but I can't say I have had better in quite a while.

I do remember though when I was a kid that Pork Chops and all meats seemed to taste better. I assume it might be partially due to changes in taste, but not totally. Meat had more fat and was from local farms.

My dad used to help his uncle butcher and we would always get fresh scrapple in the fall (I believe). I'll never taste any of that stuff again.

Ive only eaten at one place on that list, and that's Keller's in Dallas,Texas!! It was awesome, and they have a cruise night two or three nights a week!

I may have to compile my own list when I get the time! I'm very opinionated on burgers.

Bill, Harvey's is completely different than Hardees (I've been to a Hardees in the US)

Harveys originated in Canada, their first store was in 1959 in Richmond Hill, Ontario (which is just north of Toronto)

Here is their website:

http://www.harveys.ca/

I live down the road from one of these places, Keller's, and the burgers are good, but maybe not great. I'll take a home made one any day. The only trick is a freshly baked bun.

I've never eaten a bad hamburger. In fact, I think I could live, and be happy, eating nothing but hamburgers.

The best burger I ever ate didn't come from a restaurant though: my mother is the hamburger queen. If I thought she wouldn't mind, I'd envite you all down to Louisiana to have one.............Mom................?
