Test your lube IQ

I was at work today and found this at the oil recycle bin stuck on a bottle
of quaker state.

Question (myth or fact)

1.if the oil is dark or black when drained,this indicates a problem.
2.using synthetic motor oil will void a warranty.
3.you can switch from synthetic oil to conventional oil or vice
versa anytime you want.
4.thicker motor oil is better for your engine and increases
engine life.

Answers (by quaker state)

1.myth.if the oil is doing its job of cleaning the engine,it should be dirty
when drained.
2.myth.as long as the synthetic product meets the viscosity
requirements.
3.fact.as long as the synthetic product meets the viscosity
requirements.
4.myth.thinner motor oil is essential for easy starting,
particularly in cold weather,and for proper lubrication
once the engine starts.

I would probably have strengthened the response to question #3 to include a specific requirement that the oil meet the requirements set forth by the manufacturer.

Wouldn't want anyone to believe that they could switch their oil in a vehicle requiring synthetic back and forth.

It kind of works in that it may dispel some myths, but the explanations are very weak.
