Elon Musk says we will see the Roadster II late this year; production next year. @UncleDave get your check book out!
Oh yeah, the top model will do 0-60 < 1 second...

Elon time again? Well, somebody's gotta show the Nevera ($2M) and Battista ($3M) how America builds a real Supercar!

"Tonight, we radically increased the design goals for the new Tesla Roadster.
There will never be another car like this, if you could even call it a car."

They still got 50K of El Jefe Grandes money he hast been able to get back for v1 of this thing that never materialized.
Boss has been "stuck" with his 2 twin turbo v12's.
I'll live vicariously through his purchase although I may bite on a new highland mini ludicrous 3.

I will hafta settle for the new Highland Performance which is rumored to use the Ludicrous motors, along with better suspension, brakes, etc. Sub 3 second 0-60 times? 10 second qtr?

My wife mentioned this to me the other day. I think she's hinting I should buy one over the next Golf R.

As far as the new Roadster, who knows. I'd be happy to see it exist, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Just something to ponder when looking at these 0-60 claims that some people are wetting themselves over. This is just Musk talking his usual crap IMO.

How fast can a Top Fuel dragster go from 0 to 60?

The current Top Fuel record held by Brittany Force is 338.17 mph 3.659 sec. elapsed time in the quarter mile. How fast does a Top Fuel dragster do 0 to 60? Considering it does 0-300mph in roughly 3.5 seconds, the 0 - 60 would be around 0.7-0.9 seconds.May 3, 2023

Maybe. But the Plaid is still epic fast. Like stupidly, epic fast. With 1/4 trap speeds in the 154mph range. I don't think there has ever been a common sedan with that kind of performance. He has a lot to be proud of. I think tonight Crew 8 is launching to the ISS.

It is hard for a street car to get enough traction to achieve dragster level launches.

Elon is suggesting they are using Spacex technology to get the high acceleration. Very devious. There is no financial link between the two companies. Tesla stock usually moves when Spacex does something successful.

Sure it is fast but less than 1 second to 60 is nothing more than pure fantasy for anything driven on the road. Unless it is being launched by a steam or electromagnetic catapult or rocket engine there is no way the tires and chassis can withstand that kind of torque and rpm.

Ding ding ding! SpaceX Package.

In a word "useless" for anything driven on a street/road.
