Tesla Being Examined for Possible Securities and Wire Fraud

The biggest issue with the dislike of Musk is his constant promises. He also thinks it's hilarious to make fun of other people either in person or via X. See the article where he posted that a guy was a false flag person and a riot up in Washington was started by him when the guy wasn't even there. Musk even has said he posts stuff but doesn't validate if it's true or not.
So basically you don't like Musk because he does what most of the politicians in America do regularly.
Someone like him.... attitudes he displays certainly should not have his own personal platform like X or any other wide spread media type outlet. Actually that is one of societies greatest woes these days. Too many lies , exagerations and wild speculations are easily and unverifably spread to us and the masses daily. We ALL should be careful what we read on the internet and believe
What do you think of Sergei Brin and Larry Page having their own 'personal platform' (Google....which also runs Yahoo News)? They don't seem to get any flack despite being highly biased like the majority of the mainstream media.

Ahh so you think it's okay to call people "pedos" via the internet because they don't agree with you because you call out their stupid idea that won't work? Even better calling out a guy because Musk "thinks he's a neo nazi false flag "

OMG! YAHOO.......... I NEVER ever open Google since years ago they admitted all the spying they have set up to "watch" and? every person who uses any of their products or services. Yahoo , for years since I would guess the 90s I always drank coffee and read the daily news and article once "print news" / "papers" were pretty much killed off. Now that you mention. Yahoo... I have noticed is so freakin one sided and wild I can not even sort thru their foolishness anymore. I will look at Yahoo sports but cant take the other stuff any longer. It is amazing since you mentioned those I recall over 2-3 years back I started seeing all these wild one sided articles bashing certain folks etc.... and I decided to look up the authors of these so called news stories and op eds.... You would not believe (guess most would after all) , believe the outright whacko idiots who they just allow to post stories that their site makes out to look like legit new reports that are from some really strange , far far out people who are in no way near professional writers or reporters. *****NO POLITICS**** PLEASE

I'm not a fan of Google in general. I'm still heavy in tech but with all Apple devices I use all software and websites that aren't connected to any Google services. I'm not saying that I've gotten myself off of the radar of data collecting. I just choose to use outlets that don't outwardly sell information to advertise to me.

That's not to say I wouldn't use an Android phone. It would make the most sense to use Google services with an Android phone for ease of use, that's what they bank on getting for that convenience though.

I REALLY DO still use an old type of flip phone. No smart phone for me. My computer world revolves and exists on my personal PC I have set up on a desk in my man cave that faces out the front window so I can watch the street and front yard when ever I feel a need to use it. Wife is in , over the top into it all. Smart phone / Smart tablet / Lap Top / Facebook which I loath as it seems so silly for people to WANT or even some seem to NEED to share every single aspect of their lives from eating out to blowing their noses.... LoL I may be a grouch but just kidding. Do not really loath it. I just have no need or urge to use stuff like Facebook.

....
I thought I was the only one in here ;)
As much as we may disagree at times, this is spot on. Thing is, the majority just doesn't care. In Europe they police this data gathering more aggressively, not that it is perfect but we used to be the standard.
To a small extent I know the data business and the high salaries of those and profits of the companies who do the packaging and sell it to the highest bidder.

I'm not saying it's something that everyone should concern themselves with, but I really don't like advertising. Time is money and time spent with ads cuts into my free time and I feel really affects my enjoyment of the consumption of media. I don't mind paying a reasonable fee to consume media, but I don't think that even in the case of YouTube Premium(which I no longer use) that it isn't collecting my data. They just aren't feeding me ads when I pay for the Premium service.

Well, to be fair, the guy was a Brit in Thailand, and you know what they say about the 98% giving the remaining 2% a bad name....
Yeah, it was inappropriate to call the guy a pedo when, by all appearances, he was a hero trying to rescue kids.
As to the Patriot Front stuff, I can think of no sources more unreliable than an attorney bringing a defamation suit or Rolling Stone magazine, so I'll reserve judgement on that one. As to Patriot Front itself, it has all the hallmarks of a false flag operation.

Yeah, I have a number of collections, from computers to game systems to guns to cars. Lots of nice stuff here too in your collection I've seen from other posts too, always good to see people keeping the old stuff alive. Its amazing how different things are today vs back then but playing with computers in the 80s was what got me into the IT field and where I am today.

My 486 is also a 25 Mhz but I did finally get the math cooprocessor for it a few years back to add that to it. Also has 32MB of RAM instead of the original 4MB that it came with back in the day. I rarely use it but occasionally turn it on and go through the old DOS and WIN 3.1 stuff I have on there. Amazing how after 30+ years I can still remember all those commands in DOS but I can't remember most of what I did yesterday. Just not important enough I suppose.

The Ataris I do play some old games on as I don't really like the emulators for those games, they just don't feel right when you play on modern hardware. My 130XL has the 5.25" floppy drive and amazingly almost every disk I have still works.

I also have a large collection of game consoles in my basement hooked up to a old projection CRT that gets some use still. Again, prefer to play those games on the original equipment, most emulation doesn't feel the same. Missing a few of the rarer stuff like 3DO and Jaguar but sometimes you have to draw a line somewhere on the cost.
My parents almost purchased an Atari Jaguar back in the day. They ended up buying a Sega Genesis. Atari really bungled the Jaguar. Difficult proprietary software and coding to very few games at launch. Add that most of the games weren't developed to take advantage of the three processors it had making them not on par with the competition.

I don't use Facebook either but unfortunately many businesses use Facebook as people are already on there. Case in point in 2017 I interned with Colorado Avid Golfer magazine. 50% of their website traffic came from Facebook. It really irritated the media guy as he wasn't into Facebook either but it is what it is.

You definitely lucked out. A friend of mine had a Jaguar back in they day, he barely had any games for it as they were expensive for the time and there just weren't very many good ones. Today they are also expensive to collect as there just weren't very many made.

To be fair? Assumption is mother of all screw ups.
Plus, guys lives in Britain.

I remember the 'pedo' incident. A bunch of kids in Thailand with their teacher went into a cave, the rains came and they got stuck there for days. There was a big effort to get thos kids out by multiple parties. Elon made a presurized capsule and flew it personally there to help save those kids. It ended up not being used because the divers brought the kids out another way. It was quite dangerous.

It has been a while so I don't remember exactly all the details, but the british diver had some kind of beef with Elon and started running his mouth at Elon and eventually Elon called him a 'pedo'. I agree, he shouldn't have called him that, but the guy started it.
It sounded to me like he disliked Elon for some reason, just like many on this site dislike him now, and he couldn't keep it to himself.

I don't know about you, but I liked seeing more options there to try to save those kids if the original plan didn't work out.

This is a technology question, how would you expect search engines to work if they didn't crawl the Internet? Or "listen", as it were.

Birds of a feather.

Per WSJ today

"Donald Trump and Elon Musk have discussed a possible advisory role for the Tesla leader should the presumptive Republican nominee reclaim the White House, the latest sign that the once-frosty relationship between the two men has thawed."

"It was a family affair. Musk and his young son X, who often joins him at events, were part of a group that also included Trump and his 18-year-old son, Barron. Musk and Peltz know each other in part through Peltz’s son Diesel, a tech entrepreneur who is friendly with Musk. Diesel Peltz was at the breakfast as well.

The potential administration advisory gig for Musk would likely be in the mold of the role previously held by Isaac Perlmutter, the former Marvel chairman and confidant to both Peltz and Trump, one of the people said."

Why do you always bring politics here ?

I was responding to comment regarding Musk's childish behavior. These two could not be more different politically but they indeed share some personality traits which reveals a degree of irony with regards to the Musk hate.

Now don't take everything so seriously and go watch LeMans were Ford "Mustang" is running 2nd in its class.
