Termite infestation?

My FIL was looking under his cabinet and found a big hole. After teardown, he found the above damage. Is this damage due to termites?

Termites need an enclosed path from the ground into the wood. Either the wood touches the ground or they build a mud tunnel on concrete wall from ground to wood.

Typically you see holes that termite chew into. This look like rotting wood instead of termite, yeah water damage.

Yeah for termite damage, look for mud tunnels. Don't really see those in the pics, probably just water damage.

It’s definitely termites. I just went over there and saw one come out of a hole.

Time for some termidor/taurus sc. Don't mix it strong, you want it carried back to the colony. Its not for indoor use though.

Replace the wood, don't just treat it and leave it in place.

If its not an indoor living space i would treat the wood with termidor and wait, so it gets carried back to colony and wipes it out, then replace the wood.

Once its replaced you can treat the new wood and wall voids with Bora care.
