Tensioner pulley bolt Toyota 2.7l engine

seems like my tensioner pulley on my 2013 Toyota Tacoma 2.7l 4 cylinder engine is chirping and needs some replacing, I could buy a complete tensioner arm with pulley included but would take more wrenching than I would need to do. My question is ive read online that the bolt that holds the pulley to the tensioner arm is a Left hand thread on the Toyota 4.0l V6 Tacoma engine but I cannot find any info about it being a LH thread reverse on the 2.7l engine, I would hate to snap that bolt trying to get it off then have to replace the whole tensioner piece. Any one firsthand info about that bolt?

If you look at how the belt is routed and what direction it travels over the pulley you can probably figure it out. If the belt travel would tend to loosen the bolt then it is a good chance it is left-hand threaded.

I was looking this morning and I pretty sure it was traveling clockwise to the right, and was chirping like a motha, anyways the thread direction would be opposite of the belt travel direction?

I would be surprised if that was a left-hand thread then.

I starting to think its a RH thread ive recently found a thread on a tacoma truck site that leans me to believe its standard right hand, if I could get one more verification I would feel a lot better.

If the tensioner has more than 100k on it replace the whole thing. They do wear out.

Does Toyota mark its left hand thread bolts? I remember seeing a note about such markings in a FSM once upon a time. Can't remember if it was Toyota or another make.

The way to know for sure is the bolt thread is opposite the way the spring loaded tensioner loosens. Take off belt by moving tensioner that is the way the bolt is tightening if it could. Then let tensioner spring back to rest, when it is at rest it will loosen by turning it against the stop if it could go farther but the bolt will loosen that is the only way I know to tell right hand or left hand thread bolt. That way the bolt will never come loose by pulling tensioner to loosen belt to change belt. I hope that makes since as explained.

makes sense, to relieve the tension on the arm and remove the belt the arm is turned clockwise to the right , based on that the bolt would be righty tighty (standard RH thread) and to loosen the bolt is turned counter clockwise to the Left(lefty loosey)
