Tefba is leaking

My Tefba coolant filter is leaking from I "believe" where the hose goes over the flared lip on the filter. I bought the best screw clamps that Orielys had because the ones that came with it were thin junk. It took me over an hour to install it because of the seepage/leakage. I have tightened the clamps little by little and it still seeps/leaks. I can tighten the clamp and it will be bone drive for a week.. then start leaking.. tighten..bone dry for a week.. I'm fixing to junk it. I now have tightened the clamp so tight that the clamp is flaring the hose and and cutting into the hose. Im angery and stumped. As a last atempt I'm going to disassemble and clean then put black rtv on cap threads and around the lip that the hoses fit on and double clamps
What else could itbe? Suggestions?

Inspect the connect, especially the "lip". If there is any type of seam or imperfection then the RTV may be your only solution other than taking it back and getting a new one. If the lip looks fine then maybe new hoses and spring type clamps. They always work better than screw clamps for me simply because when you put them on they go on evenly instead of like the screw clamps that twist from the torque of tightening them.

I was switching over to a Goodyear hose clamp that was made in Germany about 6 years back. It had a leaf spring built in the helped it expand and contract on hard to get at clamps. I started using them on everything with good results. Then all the sudden I could not get them......

Have you tried flipping two clamps so the screw is on the opposite side of the other and the screw facing the other way?

I will look at the mating surfaces when pull it appart. No, I have not tried opposite facing clamps yet. That is what I will do when I double clamp.
The Tefba has a beveled lip, I i'm like WTH it should seal perfectly

2 clamps oriented 180 deg apart is great.

The one bad trait of worm clamps is they wrap the hose around and create a certain amount of slack on one end of the hose. Of course that's what creates the weak/leak point.
