I am on a flight headed towards Turkey from South Africa and typing this from about 36,000 feet. They tell me that WiFi will be available on the transatlantic flight as well. Crazy improvements in the last few years.

Yes, and they also managed to cram the seats tighter in a recent flight I made to Hawaii. Either I grew 6" or the seats are packed tighter together. LOL

I've found the internet to work better and be less expensive on international flights than domestic flights.

It was 99% work, but an amazing experience nonetheless. Leaves me with only Australia to visit to have all the inhabitable continents.

It was free on this flight for Business First--else I would not be typing.

Boeing 777; there were three A380's parked next to me--monsters!

Tons of movies; multi-tasking--watching Avengers Infinity Wars, writing Chapter 18 in my new book, and posting here. Food is OK; I am not a huge eater on flights, but they have a bit of everything for everyone. Desserts are the best of the lot.

As a guy who lost 183 pounds, I feel qualified to answer that--you have to accept the world is not designed for the obese. The seats will neither be comfortable nor "adjustable". On flights like the one I am on now, in the past, I would have bruises on my thigh where the seat arms would dig into them. I always ensured that I did not intrude into my neighbor's space, but that meant a sore back as well from leaning away from them (aisle seat).

Thankfully, I no longer have those issues, but I am 6' tall and economy seating is a pain because the (often) inconsiderate sitting in front of me will throw the seat back without warning scraping into my knees. As long as people tolerate it, the airlines will continue. I normally have status, so I sit in economy plus, or I pay for it. Standard economy is a no-go for me.

They actually are getting tighter. Zodiac, a big named seat manufacturer, has designed a pivoting seat back which allows the seat to recline but pushes the base forward. This minimizes the amount of room required for the seat to recline backwards. This design shaves between 1-3" off of the seat pitch, depending on aircraft and cabin configuration. They are on most of the new Boeing 737 MAX 8s and Airbus A321s for American Airlines. I'm not sure about other airlines, but I know it's becoming a very popular seat option.

Yes, amazing. I chimed in on a flight from Toronto to Bermuda last month. A new version of the 5 Mile High club!

Safe travels!

The ability to get enough WiFi would allow me to work a good portion of flight time. I pay for it sometimes as I find the fee worth it given my hourly rate and earning VS doing nothing sitting bored and cramped on a plane.

My company pays me to sit on the plane and watch movies.

If they wanted me to work I'd be clocking DT!

Been available for way longer than a few years. I worked on a program called Connexion wi-fi in the sky 14+ years ago covering almost anywhere on earth using satellite links - first program to do such a thing. Still used on Air Force 1.
