Have a '98 Taurus sedan. Anyone with children has probably lived through the dreaded twisted seatbelt. Mine became very twisted and also retracted into that mysterious place seatbelts go. The dealer informed me it could not be repaired and a new one must be ordered. All this for only $200! Turns out the back seat, seat back can be easily removed by lowering the trunk access portions of the seat back on the driver and passenger sides and removing 4 simple screws. Lift the seat back up and out (there are two metal tabs on the top of the frame on P and D sides. Once the back is removed, all 3 seat belt retractors are completely exposed (as are money, pencils, hair clips and crayons). The retractors are easily manipulated to undo any binding and reverse to process to install the seat back. Fifteen minutes and you're good to go.
