This is in regards to changing filters on a 2000 300M with a 3.5L HO. Last couple times I have used a Driveworks DW4670 from Advance Auto. This is apparently equivalent to a Fram PH16 or a Purolator 14670. The way the filter is arranged on the motor, it drives me nuts trying to take the filter off. There is no room to get a good grip or angle on it that I can find. Way back when doing an oil change, I used a filter that seemed a bit taller and was much easier to take off, but I can't remember what brand it was. Does anyone have any recommendations for a taller filter, that won't cause any functionality issues? Thanks!

Motorcraft FL-1A, i have used this on a 2006 300. Also used the pure one and classic match of the FL-1A, with no issue's

Thanks all! I actually think I have some Fram PH8A filters laying around. So there shouldn't be any issues with oil flow, pressure, etc in going to a longer/taller filter?

I haven't personally used a taller FL-1A style filter on the 3.5 when it has the angled mount as yours does, but I've heard that it works (Mopar 4781452BB if you like OE filters). It should help you cut down on rustproofing your subframe every 3000 miles
