but on topic too. I was reading the back lable of Mobil 1 EP and it states not to use it in any HARD driving and extended OCI conditions. It also has a caution on Turbo use.

What do they consider "extended"? I'd say 15k is pretty ****ed extended. But I generally recommend your regular M1 anyway.

The Ep seems to have higher additive levels which in IMO is better.

Extending it beyond 10K in a worn, dirty engine without a UOA is risky.... especially first-time Mobil-1 buyers because Mobil wants you to shorten the first OC significantly to acclimate the engine to it. Going 15K in a non-well maintained engine & driving heavy-footed style -- then going anywhere near 15K in city driving is not what most folks here would recommend.

I bought some for future use early-on... without knowing the "overall" add-packs have been reduced from past Pennzoil Synthetics.

It better be Group IV... or at least half & half. Otherwise, it's no better than the new standard, weakened version Mobil-1 still out there.

I know, I just considered it ironic that they'd recommend avoiding extended OCIs on their 15000 EP oil. I'd never recommend 15k on it under any conditions, really.

Well I went out and bought 5 quarts of Mobil One 0w-40 and a Purolator PureONE oil filter.

Also received my next batch of Specialty FOrmulations MTL-p.
