I noticed that Synlube sells one weight of oil.....5w-50.

Would this weight be safe to run in any vehicle? When is thick too thick?

I have seen some 0w-40's and 5w-40's and 15w-50's but no other 5w-50's.

What advantages or disadvantages would this wide spread have?

Lots of VII. The one UOA I have seen of this showed that it sheared down to a thick 40 grade.

Don't pay $35 a quart for PAO oil.
