Synlube UOA

Wait, I didn't understand. This is supposedly a UOA on oil ran for 83k miles? and on a fiat?????!!!!

I don't believe any of that for one second. That's a load of bull. I apologize if that is not what is being stated but if it says 83k miles on one oil change on a Fiat, it's BULL.

ankhmaat lost all credibility with me as a poster when I just looked at his posts and every one I clicked is about Synlube.

Well, I would not pull a beat down just for that reason. People have been clamoring for someone to post who has used the stuff. Now someone has.

We can't really have it both ways

Now what we really want (as was stated) is for one of our "usual suspects" to do a protracted run on it with UOA in our preferred format so that we don't feel like we're being hornswoggled.

..but if I were to post a UOA in shill mode, I don't know what numbers I'd put in.

Someone brought up a good point with metal numbers. While I've always sorta integrated that most metals are sorta "maintained" in a dynamic sense (that is, some continual dropping out and replacing), that Fe climbed with mileage. The member brought up that this too must be some refreshed "level" of Fe and not just an accumulation ..otherwise it would take some radical up tick on an exponential curve and not the linear thing we typically see.

When you type this in look at who the owner/president is. It sure is not Miro.

Now, if you type in Mirox Corp it pulls up a legit business registered to Miro.

So maybe we should not be to hasty about condemning Miro.

Maybe they're friends, helping each other out. As far as I'm concerned it doesn't change my feelings or opinions one bit about Synlube, if anything it makes them look even worse. It was their attitude that killed them from the beginning for me. Typically when people are losing a battle, and have no concrete argument they resort to the tactics they used. Any good company would have shrugged it off, and let the product speak for itself. Then again any good company would not have their business license yanked forever. JMO

Mirox/oka auto or whatever it's called is clearly identified on synlube's web page as synlube's parent companty:

Could be a work around to the yanked license. I'm sure a story to explain everything is just around the corner.

You're probably right. Notice that synlube, Mirox, OKA auto all have the same phone number.

That's one clue. Again, I'm sure a story about what happened will follow. Unless they packed up and moved on. Hopefully!

Linda Wade and that Stefano guy who are listed as synlube owners on the revoked license are also owners in the OKA auto:

My gut feeling is usually spot on. I'll stick with the gut and pass on Synlube. I do find this very educational and entertaining though. Wish I could see a VOA posted from a trusted member. Doubt I'll ever see a UOA posted by a trusted member though, truth is I doubt any of the people I trust here would use the stuff.

All I can tell you I have been dealing with MIK AUTOMOTIVE INC and MIROX Inc, and bought SynLube from them the FIAT I have that I bought in 1979 had only 2 year warranty from FIAT (24,000 miles) but when I put the SynLube in I got automatically 5 year or 50,000 miles warranty on it, yet never needed anything that was "lubricated". I did go to Burbank AUTO/AERO BOOKS and they do not even know that there is a book out about YUGO and REFUSED to order one for me, although over the years I have spent $$$ with them, and had even $98.00 BERTONE BOOK in my hand ready to buy it, but when I got that "treatment" I put it back after all if I have to go to Amazon, I can buy both books there, no tax and free shipping! (I did and it was $68.90 for YUGO book and audio and the BERTONE two volumes - yet I was ready to spend almost $150 with AUTOBOOKS, but they refused to go to the inconvenience of ordering a book that is $14 on Amazon and retails for $26.00 - some people just DO NOT provide any service no matter how much money you would spend with them)

Anyway I do also own a YUGO and it still runs although I have no idea how many miles as the odometer broke 7 years ago (the Speedo still works accurately) and other than the first 2 oil changes ALWAYS on SynLube, so far not even changed, Filter I do annually just in case as I probably put on 20,000 to 30,000 miles or so.

I can tell you I have been either directly (when he had the BERTONE DEALERSHIP) or indirectly through MIROX, buying and using SynLube since 1980 - NO PROBLEM EVER !!!!

All my credit card purchases show "MIROX - Las Vegas" other than the labels (most of them Lube-4-Life®) there is no "SynLube on anything, I did asked once why and Miro simply told me he got tired suing people who used "SYNLUBE" be it the 1-800-SYNLUBE or the synlube.com - they ALL WERE AMSOIL DEALERS, Miro's lawyer sued them and in all cases they won - got the phone # got the web, etc.

So I am a satisfied and loyal customer 14 SynLube'd cars in now 30 years and will never put PETROLEUM anything into anything I own, just wanted you to know, and if you do not believe me that is your problem, (not mine) just like people do not believe that YUGO or FIAT can last 30 years or get 42 to 45 MPG (same as PRIUS gets).

I have kept receipts and on the X1/9 I have spend $578.00 for all the maintenance in 30 years ($150 initially and rest for filters and ADD OIL) that is IT !!!

How many $10 or $20 oil changes in 170,000 miles would the 3,000 mile oil change crowd spend ?

At least the same if not twice as much, so SynLube costs no more to have in your vehicle than what you are already spending anyways

But imagine the life you can have by NOT changing Oil, and when at one point I had 9 cars at the same time that would have been almost all the time !

Also the NO USED OIL idea appeals to me, perhaps it just makes too much sense to not create a pollutant which in California is classified as "hazardous Waste” and did you ever read the warning labels on any Motor Oil container ?

Is that not scary !!! - SKIN CANCER !!!!
