I have a '92 Nissan 240sx that I'm looking to change the manual transmission fluid in. As far as I know, it specs a GL-4 fluid. However, a lot of 240sx owners on the web seem to have good results with the Pennzoil Synchromesh.
I checked out the Synchromesh, and it really doesn't say anything about being GL-3,4, or 5 that I can see. Nor does it clearly state what viscosity it is. But it does say it is safe for yellow metals, which is the major issue as far as I understand it.....knowing the viscosity of the 'Mesh wouldn't hurt either, I guess.
So basically I am wondering if Pennzoil Synchromesh is OK for my '92 Nissan's MT.
I am just looking to get something off-the-counter this time, as I need to get this done ASAP. I will look into some of the more "exotic", mail-order stuff for next time. Thanks.
*Edit* If the Synchromesh is no good for me, and you know of another off-the-shelf 75/80w-90 GL-4 gear oil please feel free to let me know about it.
