Of the 3 oil filters below for Suzuki sport bikes will I see any real world difference if I am only running them for a race weekend or two?

I saw the web site showing media size but since they use different media not sure the point.

The K&N is the easiest as it has the nut on the end making safety wiring a breeze but the hose clamp safety wire method works on the others just fine.

Oil used is Amsoil 20W-50 motorcycle oil.

Suzuki OEM FILTER 16510-03G00-X07
Suzuki OEM FILTER 16510-07J00
Amsoil EAOM109
K&N KN-138

Thanks

Probably not, but as you mention, the K&N has a few design perks that I have come to enjoy as well. I use em exclusively for my spin on motorsports applications.

At one time, the same company made the OEM Suzuki oil filter, the Hi-Flo Filtro oil filter, and the K&N oil filter.

I would be surprised if they aren't all still made by the same company.

The K&N does have the welded on pressed steel "nut", that makes safety wiring and removal with a wrench, easy.

I've used all three 'brands' of oil filter, on the same bike. No issues with any of them.

More info than you can probably cope with.

I have read that a few times but he is basing his data on how it looks.

I would rather see how the filters perform via filtration and flow test.

My girl was great using the look at test but everything changed once I got her home and I rolled over in the AM and sew her with no makeup.

Yes, he doesn't hide his quals or lack thereof. At least there is info on construction and pictures and some info on filtering media area. If there was a better resource I'd would have quoted it.

Yeah, that old saw is getting a bit long in the tooth... Better than nothing, I s'pose. It has introduced a lot of motorcyclists to a more questioning mindset & provided them w/ choice. That's a good thing. Helped me back in the day.

Not very scientific. But it it IS independent (I think...) of any company's specific marketing or B/S. Everything that one reads these days is put out by industry-driven marketing; not neccessarily wrong, per se, but spun...

John.
