Had a $35 credit for a new Credit Card bonus. Purchased a countertop Fridgidaire ice maker. Surprised by how smoothly and seamlessly this thing works. As an example last evening I made a gallon bag of frozen ice in a couple hours. This lasts me a week. This was one fill of the water tank below the catch basket. It could be my friend, it is so precise and probably OCD like me.
Pros include:
9 bullet cubes every 6.5 minutes. Very consistent.
All operations are visible for the curious.
Easy to release/dump leftover melt water.
Ice tastes good- I use filtered water.
Compact, uses less counter space than I imagined.
Makes large and small cubes.
$48.37 after CC credit and 4 year warranty that was $17
Cons:
Other than being a bit noisy during a dumping and refilling activity, nothing else I've noticed.

It ran non-stop. Before this, my afternoons usually had a text sent to me asking "can you get a bag of Blizzard ice on the way home? Please ? 
". We ended up replacing our fridge and it came with an ice-maker. Ended up giving it to a co-worker who's wife was pregnant at the time (another iron-deficient female). She loved it !
