suredrive all season?? any good? they are cheap

Not necessarily true.

A lot of Costco's "Kirkland Signature" items are nothing more the repackaged name brands. The exact same product. No cost cutting, except advertising.

At most the packaging is different (like a sidewall branding on a tire). To some people paying for a name brand (even though it is the exact same product) is important to them.

Hence the second part of my post. If there aren't any construction differences, then simply being associated with Firestone is enough to warrant reducing the price by 50%, or it points to Kumho overpricing the tire when not sold as a private label.

Which, honestly - Firestone being Firestone - I can understand, but $175 for a basic touring tire from Kumho is way beyond what I'd pay also given that's getting close to Michelin/Continental pricing.

Anyone have info on suredrive tires at firestone. They have a great price point and look ok. Wasn't finding full reviews like a name brand tire online.
I’m on my second set. Very good tires. Bridgestone distributes them . VR rated on my Sonata with 17” wheels. Had the 16” on my previous Sonata. Budget friendly!!!

I will go ahead an say the inevitable-buy the cheap Goodyear tires or Douglas tires from Walmart. There is a 50% chance the install will be less than satisfactory.
For the discussion on Walmart service--we concur on those odds. For my beater Equinox, we installed Goodyear Reliants to replace the gravel worn Pirelli's which became very noisy. The Goodyear's were a good deal--$20 bucks off each tire and free install with a one time balance. Install was quick and seemingly well enough; they spent time putting the tire data and the vehicle's VIN into a database, including which tire was mounted in which corner. But, a quick hiway drive showed the balance wasn't satisfactory and we complained the next morning, so they re-balanced. Which lasted until we rotated them, and we presented the vehicle to them again for a 3rd re-balance. This time, we had to pay for their lifetime balance. That work seems OK, so far--the 3rd balance finally was acceptable. However, we wonder if the cheap Goodyear's are actually round--any way for that Walmart shop to measure tire run-out? We think not.

But, any more problems, a re-balance or two are just a Walmart shopping trip away. BTW, the Goodyear Reliants are satisfactory--we don't notice any deficiencies.

Another tire purchase is just around the corner--the Walmart store's have a really very reasonably priced Kumho Crugen HP27, the Discount Tire has a slightly more expensive Nexen N5000 Platinum. Consumer Reports tested the Nexen and it tested very well. So we have some choices on the installation shop for the next round. We can also try the Sure Drive, sold here by both Firestone and Hibdon Tire.

The name that's known is Firestone, when there's carnage on the road.

A cheap secondary brand from Firestone?

I thought "Death Wish" was a Charles Bronson movie, not a tire.

I believe that was in the 90's with the 1st generation Ford "Exploders". In any event, the current SureDrive tires are manufactured by Kumho and are excellent tires for the bargain price.

Yes- we live in the past on this forum....it's amazing a product defect can be brought up still after 35 years.

I have them on my Camry they perform very well in all conditions except heavy snow. They are by far the quietest tire I've ever had.

I have suredrive sports on my 09 tC. They have been very good and worth the money. They are $100 less a piece than the potenza RE980AS+ tires I had before. $87 a tire vs $191.

If you were getting them on a sedan or a non sport vehicle, opt for the Touring A/S. They are less than $10 a tire more than the Suredrive All-Seasons but have much better reviews. Honestly the user reviews of the Sure Sports and Touring A/S tires are as good if not better than the Firestone or Bridgestone tires that cost a lot more. They have good mileage warranties too.

Take it to a shop that has the road force machine...They should be able to find the issue..
