Supertech or Prestone Coolant for Honda ?

I use SuperTech in my "not stock" 93 Honda. I think it's made by Prestone. It's only in there for a couple of years so it should be fine. I think it's more important to use distilled water with the anti-freeze/coolant to ensure max corrosion protection.
Prestone or its ST counterpart would actually be fine for a Honda. Both are totally free of waterpump seal-eating silicates. Where the "big-three" Japanese manufacturers differ in their antifreeze formulations is formulating with a stiff dose of phosphates (Prestone and ST have none.). Phosphates are used as an additional buffering agent against aluminum corrosion. The Europeans (who also make aluminum engines and radiators) intentionally delete all traces of phosphates for fear they'll fall out of solution and cause problems with sedimentation and waterpump seals. A conundrum. I opted to flush and refill using ST four months ago in my aluminum engine Hyundai. No problems at all so far. Hyundai made no specific brand recommendations for model year 2003. BUT, if your car's still under warranty, it might be safer from a CYA standpoint to go with Honda's exhorbitantly priced antifreeze and KEEP THE RECEIPT as purchase proof in the unlikely event of cooling system problems. If you decide to go with Honda genuine antifreeze, many if not all Honda dealers stock only 50/50 premix. (since half of it is distilled water, that means you've paid ~$7.00 for half a gallon of distilled water that's priced under 60 cents per gallon at WalMart! Let's see - ~30 cents versus ~7 bucks - yeah, that's a pretty tough call...) If you, like me, like to "roll your own" dilution with concentrate and self-purchased distilled or de-ionized water, the concentrate is available at Honda motorcycle dealers.
I have never used anything but Prestone. I felt much better about it when it was owned by Union Carbide instead of Fram. Now I wonder.
Prestone is NOT owned by fram!
The prestone products corporation is owned by honeywell international who happens own fram corporation as well. So don't worry about it prestone makes good quality stuff.
